MINUTES
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
March 28, 1978
The Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana was called to order at 5:25 P.M., by Chairman David
F. Ortiz in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza,
Santa Ana.

The full reading of
the Minutes of the
Regular Meeting of
February 28,1978
was waived and they were approved as mailed on the unanimously
carried 7:0 motion of Commissioner Brandt, seconded by Commissioner
Ward.

for the Section 8
Rental Assistance
Payments Program
dated March 16, 1978
indicating that 389 of the 470 units authorized by the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) were under lease as of
March 1, 1978, was received and filed on the unanimously carried
7:0 motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded by Commissioner Garthe.

HOUSING AUTHORITY OF LEASED HOUSING TO PERSONS OF LOW INCOME
WITHIN THE AREA OF OPERATION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA was adopted on motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded
by Commissioner Garthe and unanimously carried 7:0.

authorized to advertise
for bids for auditing
services for the bi-
ennial audit of Housing Authority programs, as recommended in
the report dated March 17, 1978, prepared by Peter A. Grams, on
the unanimously carried 7:0 motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded
by Commissioner Garthe.

The Executive Direc-
tor-Secretary dis-
tributed a letter
dated March 24, 1978,
from Donald G. Phillips,
Director of the Housing Development Division for the Los Angeles
HUD office, inviting the City to apply for 750 Section 8 housing
units; the Authority's existing application is for 220. Com-
missioner Ward's motion, to inform HUD that the Authority does not
desire to amend its original application to increase its Section
8 leased housing units from 220 to 750, was seconded by Commis-
sioner Brandt and carried unanimously, 7:0.
