Ortiz, in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Santa Ana. Roll Call was as follows: .. . . . Brandt James E. Ward David F. Ortiz, Chairman None The following persons were also present: Bruce C. Spragg, City Manager Keith Gow, City Attorney Manuel Rede, Executive Director-Secretary Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary Representatives of the Press The report dated September 14, 1977, prepared by Peter A. Grams, recommending approval for submittal of a request to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for an additional 100 Section 8 (Existing Housing) Unit Allocation for Redevelopment Area relocatees, which was continued from the September 19 meeting, was discussed by Council along with the status report dated September 26, 1977, prepared by Manuel Rede. Mr. Rede reported that HUD cannot honor a Housing Authority request for units to be "set aside" exclusively for the purpose of serving Redevelop- ment relocatees; however, that HUD would consider a request from the Authority for 100 additional units that could be given to families displaced through governmental action; and that in the meantime the Housing Authority can continue to serve the needs of the Redevelopment Agency from units presently allocated to the Authority. UNFINISHED BUSINESS ADDITIONAL HOUSING UNIT ALLOCATION REQUEST RECEIVED AND FILED Commissioner Bricken's motion, seconded by Commissioner Yamamoto to approve submittal of a request to HUD for an additional 100 Section 8 (Existing Housing) Unit Allocation failed to carryon the .~ following roll call vote: AYES . NOES Bricken Yamamoto Ortiz Ward Brandt Garthe Evans The reports dated September 14 and September 26, 1977, were received and filed by unanimous informal agreement. ,.. MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY -2- OCTOBER 3, 1977 . BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS CONTRACT RECEIVED AND FILED .. The letter dated September 7, 1977, from Donald G. Phillips, Director of Housing Development Division, transmitting a fully executed copy of the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program Annual Contributions Contract, the Project Leasing Schedule and other related attachments was received and filed, along with a summary report of the contract dated September 26, prepared by Edward L. Flores, on the unanimously approved 7:0 motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded by Commissioner Brandt. ADJOURNMENT At 2:20 P.M., the meeting was adjourned on the unanimously seconded bf.
