MINUTES REGULAR MEETING COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUGUST 15,1989 The Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency was called to order at 5:38 p.m. by Chairman Young in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. wmrr ~ John Acosta, Vice Chairman Daniel H. Ream, City Manager Edward Cooper, City Attorney Jan Perkins, Deputy City Manager Robyn Simpson, Assistant City Manager Cynthia J. Nelson, Executive Director/Community Development Agency Robert Hoffman, Real Estate & Redevelopment Manager Debra Kurita, Administrative Services Manager Patti Nunn, Project Manager Vera Harrison, Secretary ~ It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Acosta and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 18, 1989. EXCUSE OF ABSENCE It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (4:0) that Agency Members May and Norton be excused because of the press of business. AMENDMENT TO BASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF SANTA ANA It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Young and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency direct the Agency Attorney to prepare and authorize the Chairman and Executive Director to execute an Amendment to the Base Agreement between the Santa Ana Unified School District and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana regarding interest drawdown on the City's $8 million grant to the School District. . . . BRISTOL CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA BASE YEAR CHANGE It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency adopt Resolution No. 89-10 - a Resolution changing the base year for the Bristol Corridor Redevelopment Project Area assessment roll to 1989-90 and ratifying the transmittal of that information to the affected taxing agencies. AGENCY SECRETARY REPORT It was moved by Agency Member Pulido, seconded by Agency Member McGuigan and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency instruct the Agency Secretary to enter into the Minutes: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the Agenda for the July 18,1989 Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency was posted on the door of the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, at 10 a.m. on July 14, 1989. CLOSED SESSION The meeting adjourned to Closed Session in Room 147 of the Council Chambers at 5:40 p.m. The Agency Secretary read the following: "The Legal Counsel requests that the Redevelopment Agency recess to Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.9(A) to confer to its attorney regarding pending litigation which has been initiated formally, and to which the Redevelopment Agency is a party." The titles of the litigation are: Community Redevelonment A2ency vs. Federated Community Redevelonment A2ency vs. Matkin et al Agency Member Griset arrived at 5:45 p.m. REPORT FROM CLOSED SESSION The Agency Members returned to the Council Chambers at 5:50 p.m. with all members present including Agency Member Griset. It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Young and carried unanimously (5:0) that the Redevelopment Agency approve the following settlements: Community Redevelonment A2ency vs. Federated Settlement in the amount of $1,300,000 Community Redevelonment A2ency vs Matkin. et a1. Settlement in the amount of $16,000 -2- . . . ..... ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to COile before the Redevelopment Agency, the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 p.m. n -3- Director
