HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-17-1982MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TNE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA November 17, 1982 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gordon Bricken at 5:47 p.m., in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. McGuigan, and Mayor Oordon Bricken. Also present were City Manager A. J. Wilson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Administrative Aide to Clerk of the Council Deanna L. Clark. Council- member Daniel E. Griset joined the meeting at 5:56 p.m. Councilmembers John Acosta, R. W. Luxembourger, and Alfred C. Serrato were absent. BIANNUAL WORK STUDY SESSION The City Manager reviewed the WITH BOARD/COMMISSION CHAIRS progress made by the City of Santa Ana since the last working session with the Boards and Commissions in May. He described such projects as the Orange County Transportation Center (Amtrak Station), construction at Sasscer Park, the Broadway Overpass, the Santa Ana Freeway expansion, and the celebration of Golden City Days. The Mayor added to those projects Santa Ana's participation in the All-America City competition, the development of the new City logo, progress being made with the "Bullet Train" planned to meet high-speed transportation needs between the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, and commented upon the tremendous support that the City was receiving from the business community relative to all of the projects taking place within the City of Santa Ana. Copies of the City's Annual Report were distributed by the City Manager to those present. Coun¢ilmember Griset left the meeting at 6:25 p.m. Each of the representatives of the Boards and Commissions reported on the activities of its respective group. ADJOURNMENT Beach at 7:30 p.m. on December 2, 1982.
