" /. / / // V k. ~t2,-- CITY MANAGER APPROVED D As Recommended D As Amended D Ordinance on 15t Reading D Ordinance on 2nd Reading D Implementing Resolution D Set Public Hearing For APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE SANTA ANA RIVER TASK FORCE CONTINUED TO ------- FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve the appointment of 22 individuals to serve as the Santa Ana River Task Force to prepare a report on habitat restoration and recreational opportunities at the river. DISCUSSION On November 15, 2004 the City Council approved the formation of the Santa Ana River Task Force to study the possibility of restoring the natural habitat environment and providing recreational opportunities at the river. In January, the Park Development, Recreation Programs, and Education Partnerships Council Committee solicited membership applications from various governmental organizations and community groups with an interest in the development of the river. In March, candidate applications were reviewed by the Committee. A lists the individuals recommended by the Committee for appointment by the City Council. Upon approval of the task force a series of meetings will be scheduled to discuss and prepare a report. This report will be presented to the Committee, the Board and Recreation, the Planning Commission and the City Council.
