FISHER FOR VETERINARY SERVICES aLJa CITY MANAGER CONTINUED TO ---- FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Ci ty Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Dr. Kristi Fisher to provide veterinary services for the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park for a one-year period in an amount not to exceed $35,000. DISCUSSION The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is required by the United States Department of Agriculture to provide veterinary services for the collection of animals maintained at the Zoo. Dr. Fisher will serve as the primary medical officer for the Zoo and provide a comprehensive program of preventative and curative medical care for the exotic animal collection. Veterinary services for the domestic animal collection included in the Crean Family Farm are provided under separate agreement. Dr. Fisher will also serve as the caretaker of all drugs, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment used to treat animals in the Zoo collection. FISCAL IMPACT Funds are available in the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park, Other Contractual Services expenditure account (account no. 11-247-6291).
