NO. 04-046) APPROVED o As Recommended o As Amended o Ordinance on 1 st Reading o Ordinance on 2nd Reading o Implementing Resolution o Set Public Hearing For \:~t ~ (2::lt2 CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION Renew the contract with Hardy & Harper, Inc., for asphalt pavement pothole repairs for a one-year period in an annual amount not to exceed $325,000. DISCUSSION The Public Works Agency's Street Maintenance Division is responsible for repair of streets and sidewalk maintenance in Santa Ana. Contract serVlces will include the repair of all potholes a minimum of six inches wide and one inch deep, and the repair of damaged pavement areas not exceeding 25 sq. ft. in diameter and two inches in depth with an asphal t overlay. In addition, the contract will provide for sidewalk maintenance, which includes sidewalk ramping and sidewalk offset grinding, which are used to reduce risks to pedestrian traffic. On May 2, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to Hardy & Harper, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, for a one-year period, with provision for one one-year renewal. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing. Staff recommends the renewal of the contract. FISCAL IMPACT Funds are available in the Public Works Road Maintenance Other Contract Services acc unt (account no. 11-631-6291).
