HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-24-1984MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFOPNIA October 24, 1984 The meeting was called to order at 5:54 p.m., by Mayor R. W. Luxembourger, in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were Daniel E. Griset, P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, Assistant City Attorney Richard Lay, Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy, m~nbers of the City's management staff, and the public. Councilmembers John Acosta, Gordon Bricken ar~ Dan Young were absent. ACTION BY THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENTCO~ISSION/C~J~UNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY The Council recessed to the Cora~unity Redevelopment Agency at 5:55 p.m. and reconvened at 6:03 p.m., with the safe, members present. The City Manager requested the Councilmembers calendar 3:00 p.m., November 8, 1984, in the Santa Aha Stadiu~n for a promotional event for the upcoming City Christmas Parade. City Attorney ~dward J. Cooper joined the raeeting at 6:03 p.m. EXECUTIVE SESSION At 6:04 p.m., the Council recessed to Executive Session and reconvened at 6:26 p.m., with the same members present. EXECUTIVE SESSION REPORT MOTION: Approve agreements and authorize execution by Mayor and Clerk. JT. EXERCISE OF POWERS A(~qEEM~T between the City and the City of Orange creating the Transportation System Improv~nent Authority. SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT with Mutual Releases by and among City of Orange, City of Santa Ana, Cor~nunity Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana, Santa Ana Venture, Henry T. Segerstrom, J. M. B. Federated Realty Associates Ltd., and Center Partners L~do, regarding develo~nent of Santa Ana Fashion Square. Councilm~nber Johnson expressed the opinion that since the City of Orange had caused three additional plaintiffs to be involved in the lawsuits, he felt it was the City of Orange's obligation to remove them. MOTION: Reconsider approval of the foregoing agre~nents.
