FIRST AMENDMENT TO
CONSULTANT AGREEMENT
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO CONSULTANT AGREEMENT is entered into
on September 1, 2005, by and between Carolyn Hank ( "Consultant') and the City of
Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California ( "City ").
Recitals:
A. The parties entered into Agreement #N- 2004 -132, dated November 4, 2004,
(hereinafter "said Agreement') by which Consultant has instructed writing workshops
for inmates in the Santa Ana City Jail facility.
B. In accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement, the parties wish to
extend the term of said Agreement for an additional one -year period and to increase
compensation to pay for services during the extended term.
Wherefore, in consideration of the covenants contained in said Agreement, and subject
to all the terms and conditions of said Agreement, except those amended in this First
Amendment to Consultant Agreement, the parties agree as follows:
1. Section 2. a., COMPENSATION, shall be amended to increase compensation by
$5,000.00 for the term from September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2006. Total
compensation shall not exceed $8,310.00 during the term of said Agreement.
2. Section 3, TERM, shall be amended to extend the termination date one year, from
August 31, 2005 through August 31, 2006.
3. Except as herein amended, all terms and conditions of said Agreement shall remain in
full force and effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this First Amendment to
Consultant Agreement on the date and year first written above.
