RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with S&G Diversified Products, formerly Spectrum Packing
for plastic trash can liners for a 12-month period in an annual amount not
to exceed $38,000.
DISCUSSION
The Central Stores section of the Finance and Management Services Agency
provides plastic trash can liners to various departments throughout the
City. The contract for plastic trash can liners is designed to provide
quality products at significant savings based on quantity pricing.
On May 17, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to S&G Diversified
Products, formerly Spectrum Packaging for a 12-month period, with provision
for two 12-month renewals. The vendor has agreed to renew the contract;
however, the vendor has requested a 22 percent increase due to increases
from the manufacturer as a result of rising costs for petroleum based
products. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract
period, and staff recommends the final renewal of the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departmental Operating Materials &
Supplies accounts (object code 6391).
