RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing the FY 2006/07
Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF) grant funds in the
amount of $684,861 into the revenue account (account no. 128-01-5372) and
appropriate same into the SLESF grant expenditure accounts (account nos.
128-351-various)
DISCUSSION
The State of California provides grant funding to state law enforcement
agencies through the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF).
This grant requires that funding be allocated to counties and cities in
accordance with specific requirements for front-line law enforcement
services. Front-line law enforcement typically includes community oriented
policing projects and special law enforcement activities that require use
of additional police officers in specially targeted saturation areas.

to purchase equipment and supplies for front-line crime reduction efforts.

Approval of the appropriation adjustment will increase revenues in the
SLESF FY 2006/07 Year-II Grant Revenue account (account no. 128-01-5372) by
$684,861, and appropriate the same into the SLESF FY 2006/07 Year-II Grant
expenditure accounts (account no. 128-351-various).
