DISCUSSION
The Building Maintenance Division of the Finance & Management Services
Agency is responsible for maintenance and repair of various City buildings.
The diesel and gas powered backup generators located at the City Hall,
Corporation Yard, Police Administration Building, and ten fire stations are
critical for maintaining essential operations during an emergency. The
generators require regularly scheduled maintenance and load testing to
ensure the equipment will be operational when necessary. The contract will
provide for an annual comprehensive inspection and semi-annual preventive
maintenance service to the generators.

Bids were received and opened on December 28, 2006, and evaluated (Exhibit
1). The bid received from Generator Services Co., Inc., is responsive to
the specification and meets the City's requirements. The award amount
includes a contingency to facilitate the purchase of additional parts and
emergency services on an as-required basis.
