NO. 07-011) CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Award a contract to Altec Industries, Inc., under the Cooperative Purchase Provision of the City of Los Angeles, for the purchase of one lift truck with aerial device in the amount not to exceed $90,234.56. DISCUSSION The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program is included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation schedule established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet Division reviews the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. Currently, hybrid vehicles are not available in the heavy-duty truck line. The General Maintenance Section of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency maintains 39 park facilities, the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park and the Civic Center. The department utilizes a manlift truck to perform tree trimming, lighting replacement, and general maintenance including required painting. Due to age, worn condition and engine hours, a 1991 Ford manlift truck has been approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process.
