Motion: Approve variances to increase the height and size of the proposed
major tenant pylon sign, to allow secondary signage on the primary
building elevation for Home Depot, and to decrease the size of
landscape setbacks required around free standing signs; and, DENY
variance to increase the size of primary building signage for the Home
Depot building.

Desi Reyes briefly summarized the results of a survey relative to th

Juana Gamez raised concerns relative to the sidewalk in front of he
house and the lack of drainage, and mentioned a problem with
neighbor related to animals.

• Read from police report relative to incident at Koo's Cafe.
• Asked the City Manager questions about a proposed 2000-01 budget
appropriation for a restaurant in the Artists Village.
• Gave his phone number to citizens watching who may have
questions.
Councilmember Bist
• Congratulated Floral Park on a successful Floral Park Home and
Garden Tour on April 29, 2000.
• Requested on behalf of Councilmember Lutz, that the Council
adjourn in the memory of Claudia Riewaldt, a former City employee.
Councilmember McGuigan
• Mentioned that she enjoyed the Floral Park Home and Garden Tour.
• Congratulated the Discovery Museum Trash Bash Gala held on
Saturday, April 29,2000.
• Requested that the Council adjourn in the memory of Carol La Rosa,
a teacher at Mater Dei.
Councilmember Christy
• Commended the organization of the Youth Alternative Summit which
was accomplished by youth representatives.
• Congratulated the Boy Scouts Troop No. 123 for its Bike and In line
Skating event held last weekend.
• Also commended City staff on its role in the successful Multicultural
Festival Parade on Sunday, April 30, 2000.
Councilmember Franklin
• Congratulated all participants of the Floral Park Home and Garden
Tour and commented that there was something for everyone at this
event.
Mayor Pulido
• Reminded residents that the 4th Annual Celebrate Santa Ana will be
held in the Downtown Santa Ana Artist Village on May 11, 2000 from
2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Noted that on May 9, 2000 the City is hosting a delegation from Kuki,
Japan and will be welcoming 15 guests from that City to Santa Ana.
