appropriation adjustment accepting a bequest of $123,000 from
a R. Shulse Family Trust and appropriate the funds for the
of the Library Teen Center.
The Library Department will use the $123,000 bequest from the Estella R.
Shulse Family Trust to convert an area of the Main Library to a Teen Area.
The Library has identified an area of approximately 2,000 square feet in
the staff occupied basement area that could be converted for this use. The
Teen Area of the Library will help serve the educational, informational and
recreational needs of the library's teen patrons. The area will be
utilized to plan, facilitate, and implement teen programs. In addition,
the area will create an inviting atmosphere at the Library and maintain a
safe, fun, and interesting area for teens. The teens will assist with
library programs and volunteer in the community.
FISCAL IMPACT
Approval of the appropriate adjustment will enhance the Library Grants Fund
(account 153-01-5377) and increase the Library's Adult Services
expenditures (account no. 153-212-6291) by $123,000.
