Award a contract to Maneri Sign Company, Inc. for the purchase and
installation of construction signs for a one-year period, with provision
for three one-year renewals in an annual amount not to exceed $26,700.
DISCUSSION
The Public Works Agency is responsible for improvements made to the City's
streets, public facilities, parks, storm drains and sewers. During
construction, significant projects are identified with a sign containing
the motto: "a sign of things to come". In fiscal year 2007-2008, 35 capital
improvement projects are identified that will warrant the posting of the
sign to inform the public of improvements made by the City of Santa Ana.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on June 26, 2007, and bids were
solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as
follows:

Bids were received, opened on July 10, 2007 and evaluated. The bid
received from Maneri Sign Company, Inc. is responsive to the specifications
and meets the City's requirements. The annual amount is based upon past
usage and staff's projection for the next year. Bid results are as

FISCAL IMPACT
The costs of the signs will be charged to the various projects in the
City's Capital Improvement Program (object code 6631).
