HomeMy WebLinkAbout25B - RIGHT OF WAY SVCSREQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: AUGUST 6,2007 TITLE: AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA PROPERTY 3PECIALISTS FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY SERVICES CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER and authorize the Clerk of the execute an amendment to the Property Specialists (CPSI) to a total agreement amount of On March 6, 2006, the City Council awarded an agreement to CPSI for $475,000 for right-of-way services for Phase I of the Bristol street widening project between Pine and McFadden. Bristol Street Phase I is part of the overall project between Warner Avenue and Seventeenth Street which is funded by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). The consulting firm of CPSI oversaw the acquisition, appraisal, relocation, and the property management for 74 residential and commercial parcels for Phase I. To date all but one residential and 80 percent of commercial parcels have been acquired. The current completion for right-of-acquisition is December 2007 which is one year ahead of estimated timeline. CPSI has been doing an excellent job negotiating with property owners, managing the consultants, and keeping the project ahead of schedule and under budget. In addition to the Bristol Street project, CPSI also is assisting the Public Works Agency with other real property services. These services are real property acquisition, relocation assistance, property management, escrow activities, surplus properties, street and alley vacations and project management. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT There is no environmental impact associated with this action.
