She provided a brief update on the 3rd Business Expo to be held on June 21, 2007. She expressed that the Center is working hard to sustain the current programs along with providing youth programs. In order to address the community's needs, they have been having several meetings with families and youths to obtain feedback. As a result, they have twenty pilot youth programs available this summer. Also, she noted that the Computer WORK Center will be modified to include the family. Empowerment Zone Director's Meeting Recap - Deborah Sanchez Deborah Sanchez provided a recap of the annual meeting. Practices of sustainability along with federal legislative activities regarding sustainability were discussed. In addition, federal funding strategies were addressed. TIME EXTENSION REQUEST FOR THE LATINO EDUCATION ATTAINMENT PROJECT SAEC MINUTES 3 MAY 23, 2007 BUSINESS CALENDAR Motion: Approve a six-month time extension request by KIDWORKS for the Latino Educational Attainment Program and direct Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive Director to execute the contract amendment.
