The technological advances being implemented by the Fire Department has
created the need for expert staffing in the field of information
technology and computer support services. In July 2006, City Council
approved an agreement with Sapphire Technologies, in the amount of
$400,000, to provide these services. The current funding is almost
depleted and the Fire Department recommends adding $200,000 to the
current agreement, to an amount not to exceed $600,000.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the Fire Department, Fire Information Technology,
Other Contractual Services account (account no. 011-324-6291).
