Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $132,000 in the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration Project grant revenue account (no. 172-O1-5364) and appropriating same to the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration Project expenditure account (no. 172-251-6631) for the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration Project. 2. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $18,000 in the Park Acquisition and Development - District 1 revenue account (no. 311-01- 5070-4) and appropriating same to the Park Acquisition and Development - District 1 expenditure account (no. 311-232-6631) for the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration project match. DISCUSSION The City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency was successful in receiving a $132,000 Recreational Trails Program grant from the California Department of Parks and Recreation for the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration project. The project will develop a site along the Santa Ana River Trail into a trailside rest area. The project entails grading the site and installing concrete paving, an irrigation system, native California species plants and trees, natural seating areas, bicycle racks, a drinking fountain, and interpretive signage. Park Acquisition and Development funds received in District 1 in the amount of $18,000 will be used to satisfy the 12 percent match requirement. 20B-1 Appropriation Adjustment for Recreational Trails Program Grant March 3, 2008 Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT The appropriation adjustment will enhance the Fairview Triangle Habitat Restoration Project revenue account (no. 172-O1-5364) and expenditure account (no. 172-251-6631) by $132,000, and enhance the Park Acquisition and Development - District 1 revenue account (no. 311-01-5070-4) and expenditure account (no. 311-232-6631) by $18,000. APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNT: Gerardo Mouet, /.Francisco Gutierrez, ~~`1~-~ Executive Director 'D Executive Director Parks, Recreation and Finance and Management Services Community Services Agency Agency 20B-2 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-XXX Iss02/26/08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) PRE-DISASTER MITIGATION GRANT AGREEMENT FOR SEISMIC MITIGATION PROJECTS FOR ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL OF ORANGE - MAIN BUILDING AND EAST/WEST WING BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: A. The City of Santa Ana, on behalf of St. Joseph of Orange ,submitted a Pre-Disaster Mitigation 2007 Grant Application to help fund seismic strengthening mitigation projects planned for the Hospital's Main Building (PDM 07, OES #PJ06, FEMA #0003) and the Hospital's East/West wing (PDM 07, OES #PJ07, FEMA #0002). B. The City of Santa Ana Subgrant applications have been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide long term, cost-effective and environmentally sound reduction of hazard vulnerability. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager or his designated representative, to execute and submit all documents and take any actions necessary, for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designated representative, to provide to the State Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance, the required assurances and agreements. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
