Subject: Support Agenda Item 10. Nuisance Abatement First St. Drug Dens
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana.Use caution when opening attachments or links.
I support what you are considering doing here to eliminate the drug nuisance problems on First St.
Hopefully, this means of using a nuisance abatement ordinance will rid the area of the undesirable drug element
and have a positive effect on the homeless situation as well.
A similar situation exists in the SD-84 Transit Zoning Code area—with a few bad actor"nuisance" businesses
causing significant problems there.
I would suggest that rather than removing the M-I Light Industrial zone and eliminating hundreds of clean
industrial businesses and thousands of jobs, you could use this same nuisance abatement ordinance means to
target the three or four "bad actor"businesses in the Transit Zoning area which degrade both business and
residential neighborhoods.
Residents don't want to unnecessarily shut down clean industrial businesses and eliminate jobs.
They want quiet, clean, uncrowded neighborhoods.
Please give them that-- and eliminate the "nuisance" businesses in SD-84.
Save the neighborhoods and Santa Ana jobs.
i
Thank you,
Mike Tardif
