Dear Nadam:

in the State Employees' Retire.rrient Sys tem.

as content is concerned but differing as to color, ene type
tc be used only by city firemen, aroth~r type to be used only
by city policemen, and the third type to be used by all other
employees.
It will be necessary for you to have submitted or
printed irl the a~nropriate place on the face of the ballot
tre phrase "City- Council" on the line marked "Legislative
Body" -and the phrase "City of Santa Ana" on the lire pro-
vided for the name of the subdivision.
The election should be conducted ir. the manner
provided in the resolution which P~!r. Gordon tells me trie City
Council adopted at its meeting of Monday, June ~-th. I believe
the resolution is self-explanatory. If you have any question
at all, I would appreciate it if you T~~ould call !ne here at
MIcr~i~an- 211, Station ?102,
So far as the number of ballots is concerned, there
should be fifty ballots for firemen, forty-eight ballots for
policemen, and one hundred and fifty-four ballots for• all other
employees. These r.umber•s are taken from tree number of employees
eligible for membership ae shown in the aetua rial report. Shoulc?
you need more ballots, please let me isnow as soon as possible.
At the suggestion of Mr. Gordon in Mr. Jacobs' office,
I am enclosing herewith a copy of a ea.lerdar which I have pre-
pa red indicating my idea as to tree necessary steps to be taken
and the dates T~rher. they must be taken. I are ser~dirg a copy of
this to Mr. Jacobs and to the City Employees' Association, on
whose behalf I am acting in this entire matter. If you have any
comment, criticism or question with respect to the dates set
forth in this calendar, I would certainly arprecia to hearing from
you as soon as possible.
