A. MINUTES
RECOMMENDED MO"PION: Approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April
12, 2010.
BUSINESS CALENDAR
B. SERVICE RECOGNITION FOR CHRISTOPHER M. LEO
Chairman Alderete stated Mr. Leo was not able to attend due to.a conflict with his
work schedule.
C. COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE (REGARDING AGENDIZED
PROJECTS)
There were no disclosures.
D. FISCAL YEAR 2010-2011 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Deputy City Engineer Souri Amirani responded to the Commission's concerns on
the draft Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Planning Manager Karen Haluza
stated that the review of the CIP is required in order to allow the Planning
Commission to make a finding of its consistency with the General Plan.

The Planning Commission identified the following corrections and requests for
additional information:
1. CIP Project No. 50 -More detail on the scope of work for the synthetic turf
upgrades was requested. Deputy City Engineer Amirani to provide
additional information.
2. CIP Project Sheets 8 and 9 -Under the Project Description Section there
is a misspelling. The word "Cooridor" is misspelled and should be
corrected to read "Corridor." Deputy City Engineer Amirani confirmed that
the error would be corrected.
3. CIP Project Sheet 44 - "fhe total project cost of $150,000 does not agree
with the total project cost of $75,000 identified on page 7 of the One-Year
CIP Summary. Deputy City Engineer Amirani clarified that the correct
project cost was $150,000 and that the final document would be corrected.
Staff provided clarification where available and stated that afollow-up memo
detailing requested information and corrections would be provided to the
Commission. [This memo was distributed to the Planning Commission on May 11,
2010.]

STAFF COMMENTS
Planning Manager Haluza announced that the City of Santa Ana had been
presented with the American Planning Association -Orange County Section
Award for Outstanding Planning for the 2006-2014 Housing Element (Focused
Issue Category). The City is now eligible to compete at the State level.
PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS
Commission inquired about the environmental impact report and 'the upcoming
public hearing for the Transit Zoning Code. Planning Manager Haluza discussed
the procedural updates.
