Due to the limited number of ALPR cameras in the City of Santa Ana, releasing the locations of the cameras would significantly compromise the effectiveness and purpose of the program as it would minimize the deterrent nature of the technology. On this basis, the City asserts an exemption under Gov't Code section 7922.000 in that on the facts of the particular case the public interest served by not disclosing the record clearly outweighs the public interest served by disclosure of the record since releasing the location of the cameras would provide potential suspects the ability to divert their path.
