On Monday, July 2, 2018, at approximately 0421 hours, Santa Ana Police Department
(SAPD) Detective GUS MOROYOQUI and I conducted a digital audio recorded interview of
regarding the SAPD officer involved shooting of DONADONY BLAKE TAYLOR.
The interview took place at SAPD in interview room #3, room number 3140. The following is a
summary of the interview with and is not verbatim or necessarily in order of the
conversation, but organized for the purpose of clarity. Refer to the digital audio recording for
exact quotes, comments and statements.
On Sunday, July 1, 2018, at approximately 1139 hours, was on the third floor of
the parking structure, located at 1020 WEST CIVIC CENTER DRIVE in SANTA ANA. was
confident of the time due to her looking at her cell phone while playing games on it. She was in
the parking structure with a male friend named , later identified as ,
had ridden bikes with to the parking structure so the two

could charge their cell phones. They were sitting on the fourth floor of the structure near the
southwest corner. Within 5-10 minutes of arriving at the parking structure, she heard
approximately two (2) gun shots in rapid succession. was sure they were gun shots as
she knows the difference between gun shots and fireworks. She thought the gun shots were
close by and had come from below her, possibly in the street.
used the elevator, located in the northeast corner of the structure,
to go to the fourth floor. Along the way to where they were sitting on the fourth floor, she did
not recall seeing anyone, hearing any voices or anything else out of the ordinary.
The interview was concluded at 0428 hours.
