MELNYK #251 Approved By: Date of Report: 07/13/2018 Date: 07/18/2018 Page 1 of 2 CASE NAME: TAYLOR, DONADONY BLAKE CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (FATAL) INTERVIEW OF: MEDICAL DOCTOR ORANGE COUNTY GLOBAL MEDICAL CENTER 1001 NORTH TUSTIN AVENUE, SANTA ANA PHONE: PRESENT: JUSTO CAPACETE, DETECTIVE SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT DATE AND TIME: 07/02/2018 0238 HOURS LOCATION: ORANGE COUNTY GLOBAL MEDICAL CENTER On Monday, July 2, 2018, at approximately 0238 hours, Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Detective JUSTO CAPACETE and I conducted a digital audio recorded telephone interview of Orange County Global Medical Center (OCGMC) Doctor in reference to the SAPD officer involved shooting of DONADONY TAYLOR. The following is a summary of the interview that is not verbatim or necessarily in order of the conversation, but organized for the purpose of clarity. Refer to the audio recording for exact quotes, comments and statements. On July 2, 2018, was the Trauma Surgeon on duty at OCGMC when a male, later identified as TAYLOR arrived by ambulance. They were notified by paramedics who indicated TAYLOR was a gunshot patient. Paramedics were doing chest compressions and had administered epinephrine in route to the hospital. The Trauma Team was activated and attempted to resuscitate TAYLOR and treat his injuries. Chest compressions were continued, a chest tube was inserted and he was administered epinephrine. He was intubated by the anesthesiologist. None of the efforts worked and she pronounced him deceased at 0025 hours. TAYLOR was never conscious and made no statements. had been a medical doctor since 1987. She attended the University of South Carolina - School of Medicine. Her specialty was general surgery.
