DeGraffenreid Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 4-2-13 Date: 04/02/2013 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: LEON, IGNACIO <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (NON-FATAL) <br />TYPE: HOSPITAL <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />On Saturday, December 16, 2012, at approximately 0100 hours, Orange County District <br />Attorney (OCDA) Supervising Investigator, RON SEMAN, contacted me in regards to an officer <br />involved shooting incident that occurred at 506 East Washington Avenue in the city of Santa <br />Ana. SEMAN requested I respond to Western Medical Center- Santa Ana, located at 1001 North <br />Tustin Avenue, in the city of Santa Ana, to handle all hospital investigative responsibilities. <br /> At approximately 0200 hours, I arrived at Western Medical Center- Santa Ana, and <br />contacted Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) personnel; Detective DEAN FULCHER and <br />Officer ELIZABETH GRANADOS in the operating room doctors’ lounge. FULCHER advised me <br />that IGNACIO LEON was the subject involved in the shooting incident and he was currently <br />undergoing surgery. FULCHER also informed me that he had placed a hold on LEON’S pre- <br />transfusion blood, prior to my arrival. <br />At approximately 0315 hours, LEON’S surgery was completed and he was transferred to <br />Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Room #13. <br />At 0505 hours, Orange County Crime Lab Personnel HILARY PEPLOWSKI and BRETT <br />DORETTI arrived at Western Medical Center- Santa Ana.
