JUL O 3 2013 LXB An ASCLDILAB-/11tematio11a/ accredited laboratory Page I of I OCCRIMELAB County Executive Office -District Attorney -Sheriff REPORT OF EVIDENCE COLLECTION AT AUTOPSY CRIME LAB NAME: Jessica Gonzalez FR#: Coroner#: CRIME: OIS DATE: DEPT: Orange County District Attorney DR: 13-48764 13-02615B8 Jun 23 2013 SA13-0015 On June 26, 2013, at approximately 0900 hours, I attend the post-mortem examination of Jessica GONZALEZ at the Orange County Coroner's Division Facility (CDF) in Special Autopsy Room #24. The autopsy was performed by Dr. DAVENPORT and the photographs were taken by OC Crime Lab (OCCL) Forensic Specialist SAHAGUN. Also present were Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Investigator DAWSON and Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Detective RODRIGUEZ. The decedent, an adult female, was supine on a gurney in a closed body bag. The decedent was unclothed and paper bags covered her hands. Medical paraphernalia was attached to her body. I removed and collected the paper bags. I examined her hands. Her fingernails were short, dirty and unbroken. Apparent blood was on her hands. Nothing else of significance was observed on her hands. I collected fingernail scraping swabs and hand swabs from her right and left hands. Abrasions were observed on her face near her right eye and on her back. An apparent surgical incision was below her left breast. An apparent gunshot graze wound, an apparent gunshot entry wound and an apparent gunshot exit wound were in her right ann; an apparent gunshot re-entry wound was in her right underann; an apparent gunshot exit wound was in her left chest; an apparent gunshot entry wound was in her left back; an apparent gunshot entry wound was in her right back; and an apparent gunshot exit wound was in the center of her back. The gunshot wounds were examined with an illuminated magnifier. No soot, tattooing or stippling was observed. I had the apparent gunshot entrance wounds from her right ann, right back and left back excised. The excised wounds were examined with a stereomicroscope. No apparent gunpowder particles were observed. I received bullet fragments recovered from the left chest cavity, the lumbar spine and the left breast wound . I also received a bullet recovered from the lumbar spine. Townsend Street in the city of Santa Ana to assist in the investigation of an officer involved shooting. Present at the scene were Orange County Crime Laboratory (OCCL) Senior Forensic Specialist Cogert and Lead Forensic Specialist Tran; Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Investigators Fulcher and Wood; and Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Detective Wilson as well as other OCDA and SAPD personnel. OCCL Lead Forensic Specialist Moore and OCCL Forensic Specialist Camacho arrived later. The scene was located in the alley between the apartments on S. Townsend Street to the west and S. Raitt Street to the east. The scene extended in the alley from the units at 729 South Townsend Street to 809 S. Townsend Street on the west and from the units at 730 S. Raitt Street to 810 S. Raitt Street on the east. 805 South Townsend Street garage #1 was in the northeast comer of the building. North of 805 S. Townsend Street garages one through five and north of the driveway were 805 S. Townsend Street garages six through ten. 805 S. Townsend Street garage #6 was in the west end of the building. 805 S. Townsend Street garage #10, labeled "0," was in the east end of the building. Immediately south of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1 was 809 S. Townsend Street garage #5. A dumpster was in the alley along the east wall of 809 S. Townsend Street garage #5. East of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #I parked facing north on the east si de of the alley was SAPD uni t 854 (C A 1226270). SAPD Unit 854 was not running; the parking lights were on; the doors were closed; and the front driver door and front passenger door windows were down. North of SAPD Unit 854 facing north was SAPD Unit 880 (CA 1226215). SAPD Unit 880 was running; the doors were closed; and the front driver door and front passenger door windows were down. One cartridge case with Headstamp (HS) "WINCHESTER 45 AUTO" was on the ground northwest of 810 S. Raitt Street garage #10 [Evidence Marker (EM) l]. Northwest of EM I on the ground in the alley between 809 S. Townsend Street to the west and 810 S. Raitt Street to the east were five cartridge cases with HS "WINCHESTER 45 AUTO" (EM 2 through EM 6). South of809 S. Townsend Street garage #5 was one cartridge case with HS "WINCHESTER 45 AUTO" (EM 7). An apparent bullet hole was in the east wall of 809 S. Townsend Street garage #5 near the south end of the dumpster (EM A). In the east wall of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1 were one bullet hole (EMF), two apparent bullet holes (EM B and EM D), and nine apparent strikemarks (EM C, EM E, EM G, EM H and EM 1). A bullet jacket was recovered from EM F. The three apparent strikemarks at EM G, the two apparent strikemarks at EM H, and one apparent strikemark at EM I tested positive with a presumptive test for lead. One black, size womens 8 "Vans" shoe and one brown, size 9M boot were collected from 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1. On the ground north of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1 was an apparent bullet jacket fragment (EM 28). On the ground east of the east wall of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #I was a partial plastic toy gun with apparent blood on it (EM 25). North of EM 25 and east of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1 on the ground was an apparent bullet fragment (EM 26). North of EM 26 on the ground was medical paraphernalia and one loaded syringe with apparent blood on it (EM 30).
