SANTA ANA, California — Authorities say an Orange County woman wanted in the shooting death
of her partner last week has been fatally shot by Santa Ana police.
Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna tells City News Service that two patrol officers in separate cars found
35-year-old Jessica Gonzalez in a Santa Ana alley Sunday night.
Bertagna says officers opened fire when Gonzalez reached for a gun that turned out to be fake.
Gonzalez was suspected in the shooting death of 44-year-old Jennifer Roberta Solorio, who was
gunned down Thursday afternoon in Orange.
Gonzalez and Solorio had been in a long-term relationship and had lived together. Gonzalez had
moved out about two months ago.
Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting, but believe the failed relationship
had something to do with it.
