NEW BUSINESS
1. BUDGET UPDATE
Executive Director Mouet gave a brief, verbal budget update as follows:
Referred to the PRCSA’s Budget Impact Analysis on page 10 of the Board Packet.
PRCSA FY 10-11 proposed budget is $16,216,000 or 6.8% less than its FY 09-10
budget.
The 1.2 million dollar cut primarily impacted full time positions. This is an 18% reduction
of the Agency’s full time employees with 67 positions remaining in the overall Agency
Budget from the original 82 last year. To minimize the impact on public service, the
personnel changes were made through a planned organizational restructuring effort.
Summer programming is business as usual and a high priority for the agency.
Will continue to advocate keeping all hours of operation and days of service status quo
for all recreation centers, senior centers, libraries and zoo.

The agency received a site visit from the State on our Prop 84 grant application to make
recreation improvements on Willard Intermediate School. The State received approximately
500 applications requesting funding under this grant program. Only the applicants that
made the short list received site visits and we were one of the lucky applicants.
We received a letter from the State indicating our application for Phase 2 of the Flower
Street Bike Trail is being recommended for funding in the amount of $550,000, under the
Recreation Trails Program (RTP). Phase 2 of the Flower Street Bike Trail will connect to the
