GUTIERREZ requested I respond to 622 South Harbor Boulevard, in the city of Santa Ana, to assist with the investigation. At approximately 1618 hours, I arrived at the incident location and met with investigators from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Ana Police Department who were present to assist in the investigation. At approximately 1631 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT conducted a briefing of the known circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the investigation. After the briefing, GUTIERREZ requested that I conduct canvass interviews with SAPD detective FRANK GOMEZ. She did not see or hear the shooting incident. allowed me to review the restaurant video surveillance system to determine if any of the events leading up to the shooting incident were recorded on video. The time on the video recorder indicated 17:37 hours at the same time that my watch indicated 17: 36 hours. I noted that Camera #2 recorded the drive-thru on the west side of the restaurant. At approximately 15:02:10, I observed a male subject that appeared to run through the parking lot in a northeast direction near the upper left corner of the video. Camera #14 recorded activity on the north side of the restaurant. At approximately 15:02:10, I observed the same male subject seen on Camera #2 continued to run in a north easterly direction and out of sight. contacted McDonald’s corporate security and requested a copy of the surveillance video recording. She advised me that the video would be available for pickup in several days. Ono Hawaiian BBQ – 629 South Harbor Boulevard, Santa Ana (714) 714 531-8388 was the assistant manager at the Ono Hawaiian Barbeque Restaurant. She did not see or hear the shooting incident. was not familiar with the security system of the restaurant, and referred me to assistant manager for further information on any possible video recordings of the shooting incident. Shoe City – 605 South Harbor Boulevard, Santa Ana (714) 531-3622 was the assistant manager of the Shoe City store. She did not see or hear any of the events leading up to the shooting incident.
