On Tuesday, July 20, 2012, at approximately 1518 hours, Orange County District Attorney
(OCDA) Supervising Investigator MARK GUTIERREZ contacted me regarding an officer involved shooting
incident involving the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). GUTIERREZ requested I respond to the area
of 622 South Harbor Boulevard, in the city of Santa Ana, and assist with the investigation.
At approximately 1610 hours, I arrived at the incident location and met with investigators from
the OCDA and from the SAPD, who were present to assist with the investigation.
At 1631 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT conducted a briefing of the known
circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the investigation.
Following the briefing, GUTIERREZ requested SAPD Detective GUS MOROYOQUI, OCDA
Investigator BILLY HESTER, and I supervise the processing of the scene by Orange County Crime Lab
Personnel.
At 1648 hours GRANT relinquished the Orange County Fire Authority Pre-Hospital Care Report
and electrocardiogram strip to me.
At 2025 hours, I left the crime scene and control of the scene was turned over to SAPD
personnel.
