Santa Ana has been awarded a total of $38 million
in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
(ARRA) funding. The funds will be utilized for
housing, homeless prevention, transportation,
infrastructure, safety, job training and energy
programs.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law by President Barack
Obama on February 17th, 2009. It is an effort to jumpstart our economy and create or save.
millions ofjobs. The. Recovery Act includes measures to modernize our nation's infrastructure,
enhance energy Independence, expand educational opportunities, preserve and Improve affordable
health care provide tax roll of, and protect those in greatest need. The purpose of the ARRA Is
defined below:
• To preserve and create jabs and promote economic recovery.
• To assist those most impacted by the recession.
• To provide investments needed to increase economic efficieney by spurring techoological
advances in science and health.
• To invest in transportation, environmental protection, and other infrastructure that will
provide long -term economic benefits.

with the cement treated base reconstruction process,
