A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING SITE PLAN REVIEW
NO. 2001-13 TO DEVIATE FROM THE CITY'S DESIGN AND
DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR PARKING
STRUCTURES AT 1700 EAST CARNEGIE AVENUE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission does hereby find, determine and declare as
follows:
A. The office buildings on this site have been previously approved.
Although the use is legal non-conforming, the office product is
compatible with the area and consistent with the recently adopted 55-
freeway corridor plan.
B. The applicant is requesting approval of Site Plan Review No. 2001-13 to
vary from the City's parking structure design standards by eliminating a
side yard setback, a pedestrian walkway, and reducing the width of a
plaza/courtyard.
C. Site Plan Review No. 2001-13 came before the Planning Commission for a
public hearing on January 28, 2002.
D. After completion of Environmental Review No. 01-72, a Categorical
Exemption was filed for this project pursuant to the California
Environmental Quality Act.
E. Based upon the evidence submitted at the public hearing, the Planning
Commission finds and determines that Site Plan Review No. 2001-13, to
vary from the City's parking structure design standards by eliminating a
side yard setback, a pedestrian walkway, and reducing the width of a
plaza/courtyard, are appropriate given the constraints of this site.
Section 2. The Planning Commission approves Site Plan Review No. 2001-13.
