Minutes RECOMMENDATION: Approve minutes of the regular meeting of November 1, 2007. B. Commission Secretary Report RECOMMENDATION: Instruct the Commission Secretary to enter into the minutes that pursuant to the Brown Act, the November 1, 2007 Agenda for the Regular Meeting was posted on the door of the City Hall Council Chambers at 22 Civic Center Plaza on October 26, 2007 at 1:38 p.m. **END OF CONSENT CALENDAR** Historic Resources Commission Minutes 1 December 6, 2007 ci imurc¢ rni runno i BUSINESS CALENDAR C. No comments were made. WORK STUDY SESSION D. DISCUSSION OF SANTA ANA RENAISSANCE SI?ECIFIC PLAN Associate Planner Lucy Linnaus recapped the outreach efforts and provided an overview of the Renaissance Plan to the Historic Resources Commission. Public Comments: Jackie Deter voiced concern with omission of area B within Chapter 3 of the Plan. Nick Spain voiced concern with implementation of Chapter 3 and proposed neighborhood based-gardens to be included with Plan, and also discouraged use of Jacaranda streetscape trees. Public Comments (items not on the actenda) Nick Spain announced Farmer's Market resumes in February 2008. STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS 2. Staff Comments Hally Soboleske announced the cancellation of the January meeting; regular meeting resumes February 7, 2008. 3. Historic Resources Commission Comments Commissioner Stroud • Commented on community gardens and shared a Cabrillo Park diagram for the proposed project(s) with the Commission. Commissioner Chinn • Provided an article on the Maharajah structure at 2221 North Heliotrope Drive. • Commented on tree destruction at Seventeenth Street during winds and inquired about replacement plans. Vice Chair Dickman • Commented on Los Angeles article of September 30 "Banking on Value of History" regarding addition of 14 districts. ' Commissioner Bustamante • Inquired about public outreach efforts regarding the Mills Act program. Hally Soboleske provided information. Chair Schaefer Appreciated Renaissance Plan comments from commissioners and voiced concern with structures that are being removed during new development. The motion was sdconded by Commissioner Rogers and unanimously approved by the Commission. 5.
