Instruct the Commission Secretary to enter into the minutes that pursuant to the
Brown Act, the May 3, 2007 Agenda for the Regular Meeting was posted on the
door of the City Hall Council Chambers at 22 Civic Center Plaza on April 27,
2007 at 9:01 a.m.

Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties.

2. HISTORIC EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICAtION NO. 2007-02
Filed by Angelica Orozco and Andres V. Orozco, to'add two bedrooms to the rear
of this existing 1928 Craftsman bungalow and demolish anon-historic single car
garage to build a new two-car garage in a similar architectural style at 1123 West
Third Street (Stuessy House).

Commission discussion ensued regarding demolition standards, parking
structure requirements, setback guidelines, and the open space versus lot
coverage requirements. Other items for discussion were the window mountings,
south elevation for garage door, water heater placement and structural finish.

• Thanked staff for the Maharajah House repot.
• Requested an update on the Twist Basler House.
Commissioner Rogers
• Requested an update on the Twist Basler Hause.
Vice Chairman Dickman
• Commented on the Twist Basler structure.
• Thanked staff for the Maharajah House report.
• Inquired if Heninger Park qualified as a historlic district.
• Distributed Commissioner Chinn's copy of the Economic Preservation
Measures: A case study of Old Towne Orange; and additional resource
informational brochures.
• Hally Soboleske confirmed that Santa Ana has historic literature handouts;
will provide to the Commissioners.
Commissioner O'Callaghan
• Clarified that the SAMC monitors the applicaxions for compliance at the
Planning Commission level.
6. Excuse of Absences
MOTION: Excuse the absences of Commissioners Bustamante, Chinn,
Schaefer and Seeley.
Motion failed due to lack of vote.
' Commission discussion ensued regarding excused absences.
SUBTITUTE MOTION:
Commissioner Mill motioned to excuse the absences of Commissioners Chinn,
Schaefer, and Seeley and accept an unexcused absence for Commissioner
Bustamante. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stroud and
unanimously approved by the Commission.
Hally Soboleske announced the cancellation of the July 5, 2007 meeting.
