HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-015 - Project Funding Under the Community Based Transportation Planning ProgramIss03/09/11 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-015 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR PROJECT FUNDING UNDER THE COMMUNITY BASED TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROGRAM BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: A. The State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has issued a call for projects through the Community Based Transportation Planning Program (CBTP), providing funding for projects which integrate transportation, land use planning and community values to support livable communities; and B. CBTP funding is available on a competitive basis for projects which support livable community concepts with a mobility objective to promote community identity and quality of life; and C. CBTP funding would allow the City of Santa Ana to prepare a bicycle and pedestrian plan; and D. The City will comply with the assurances set forth in the application. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana authorizes the submission of an application for Community Based Transportation Planning funding in the amount of $300,000 for implementation of a bicycle and pedestrian plan. Section 3. The City Council appoints the City Manager, or the Executive Director of the Public Works Agency or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the project. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
