Adopt a resolution approving Housing Voucher Funding Increment CA093V00036 for 100 vouchers for the Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program. 2. Authorize the Executive Director to execute all documents on behalf of the Authority. REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION Recommend that the Housing Authority: 1. Adopt a resolution approving Housing Voucher Funding Increment CA093V00036 for 100 vouchers for the Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program. 2. Authorize the Executive Director to execute all documents on behalf of the Authority. By a vote of 5:0 (Bustamante and Simons absent). DISCUSSION The Housing Authority has received notification from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD} that the Authority has been awarded 100 vouchers far the Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program. These vouchers are to be made available to those individuals/families on the Authority`s current wait list who are recogna.zed as disabled under federal guidelines. p~ .'15~15"iit1 t~ i5,i~ ~~~ Section 8 Mainstream Housing Opportunities far Persons with Disabilities Program April 5, 1999 Page 2 HUD has recognized the difficulty that persons with disabilities have in locating affordable, decent, safe and sanitary hauling. Most of these individuals/families live on fixed incomes. The Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program will allow applicants in our community to achieve stability with rental assistance provided by the Authority. FISCAL IMPACT The Annual Contributions Contract (ACC} is funded for twelve months in the amount of $788,615 to be recognized in account no. 140-01-550.
