OPERATIONAL AGREEMENT
N-2013-028
This Operational Agreement stands as evidence that the Orange County District
Attorney's Office and the Santa Ana Police Department intend to work together toward
the mutual goal of providing maximum available assistance for crime victims residing in
Orange County. Both agencies believe that implementation of the Violence Against
Women Vertical Prosecution application, as described herein, will further this goal. To
this end, each agency agrees to participate in the program, if selected for funding, by
coordinating/providing the following services:
The Orange County District Attorney's Office and the Santa Ana Police Department
agree to:
• Cooperate in the vertical prosecution of domestic violence cases by providing a DDA
with expertise prosecuting domestic violence cases and providing investigators with
expertise investigating domestic violence cases
• Maintain an open dialogue designed to ensure both Agencies have a better
understanding of the requirements each need to better achieve their shared goal of
prosecuting domestic violence cases
• At least monthly meetings that include a Deputy
prosecute SAPD cases and SAPD investigators
investigations in order to facilitate a thorough
prosecution of these difficult cases
• This agreement begins July 1, 2013 and runs through June 30, 2016 or whenever
the grant ends whichever is sooner
We, the undersigned, as authorized representatives of the Orange County District
Attorney's Office and the Santa Ana Police Department, do hereby approve this
document.
