RESOLUTION NO. 2013-015
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA CONSENTING TO THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
DECLARING A PORTION OF EDINGER AVENUE TO BE A
COUNTY HIGHWAY FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines
and declares as follows:
A. That portion of Edinger Avenue lying within the City limits of the City
of Santa Ana is designated a Major Arterial Highway on the County
of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways.
B. The County of Orange and the City of Santa Ana propose to widen
the Edinger Avenue Bridge to improve pedestrian and bicycle access
and increase traffic carrying capacity of the bridge (hereinafter "the
Project").
C. The County of Orange intends to declare Edinger Avenue a County
highway for purposes of construction of the Project.
Section 2. The City Council resolves that pursuant to the provisions of Section
1700, Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code, all of that portion
of Edinger Avenue from the Santa Ana River to 500 feet east of the bridge is hereby
declared to be a County highway commencing upon the award of the construction
contract and ending upon the completion of said contract by the County of Orange.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Orange
County Board of Supervisors of a resolution pursuant to Section 1700 of the Streets
and Highways Code, and transmittal of same to the City Council pursuant to Section
1701. The Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this
Resolution.
