The Building Industry Association of Southern California, Orange County Chapter (BIA/OC) is a non-profit trade association of over 1,000 companies employing over 100,000 people affiliated with the home building industry. The Orange County Chapter represents the largest member base within BIA Southern California. Our mission is to champion housing as the foundation of vibrant and sustainable communities. Over 75 jurisdictions have deferred fees state-wide. Locally, 13 public agencies have adopted fee deferral programs. These jurisdictions have sustained these efforts to foster housing and job creation. While our industry and the economy continue to recover, annual production of housing remains well below historical norms. Fee deferral programs are one of many policy tools to stimulate housing production and economic vitality of our communities. Our members are grateful for the City of Santa Ana's consideration to extend the fee deferral program. Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.
