Award contracts for the purchase of ammunition for a total aggregate amount not to exceed
$141,300 with the following vendors, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City
Manager and City Attorney.

DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department provides ammunition to its sworn officers, primarily for use
during training and range qualification testing. Officers are required to re- qualify regularly to
maintain proficiency in the use of firearms. The contract for ammunition is designed to provide
quality products at a significant savings based on quantity pricing.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 16, 2014, and bids were solicited. A summary
of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows:

Bids were received and opened January 28, 2014 (Exhibit 1). Vendors were provided the
opportunity to bid on 14 types of ammunition. The bids received from Adamson Police Products,
Dooley Enterprises Inc., Proforce Marketing, Inc and San Diego Police Equipment are responsive
to the specifications and meet the Police Department's requirements.
