BUSINESS CALENDAR
COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE (REGARDING AGENDIZED
PROJECTS):
Commissioner Mill disclosed that he spoke with Ms. Andrews of the John Henry
Foundation (agenda item no. 6) at an event on December 4 and received an email
invitation, which he did not respond to.
Commissioner Bacerra disclosed that he met with Ms. Mindy Andrews and toured
the project site (agenda item no. 6) on November 20.
Chairman Alderete disclosed that he received an email invitation on December 2
from Ms. Andrew to tour the John Henry Foundation site (agenda item no. 6), which
he responded on December 8 that he was unable to tour the facility.

1. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2014 -09

A project overview was provided by Ali Pezeshkpour,
Assistant Planner I. Chairman Alderete recused himself at 5:39 p.m. from agenda
item no. 1 due to conflict of interest and handed over the dais to Vice Chairman Mill.
Vice Chair Mill opened the public hearing. There were no speakers and the hearing
was closed. The Planning Commission modified Condition No. 10 to require that
landscape plans showing compliance with city industrial standards be approved prior
to issuance of a building permit.
MOTION: Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2014 -09 to
allow for an existing major wireless communications facility as modified.

Associate Planner. Chairman Alderete opened the public hearing. Mindy Andrews
(applicant) spoke on behalf of the John Henry Foundation Board of Directors in
support of the project. With no other comments, the hearing was closed.
MOTION:
1. Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2014 -49 to
allow the expansion of a care home facility at 325 through 403 North
Susan Street as conditioned.
2. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2014 -07(a) to allow a
reduction in front yard setbacks for 325 through 403 North Susan Street
as conditioned.
3. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2014 -07(b) to allow a
reduction in rear yard setbacks for 325 through 403 North Susan Street
as conditioned.
4. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2014 -07(c) to allow a
reduction in building separation setbacks for 325 through 403 North
Susan Street as conditioned.
5. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2014 -08 to allow an increase
in the front yard fence height at 325 through 403 North Susan Street as
conditioned.

Karen Haluza
• Announced that this was her last meeting as she had accepted a position with
the City of Fullerton. She thanked the commission for their support and
considered it an honor to work with them.
Vince Fregoso
• Wished Karen Haluza and Mike McCoy the best in their future endeavors.
• Mentioned that the next meeting would be cancelled due to lack of items.
PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS
All commissioners thanked Karen Haluza and Mike McCoy for their valuable service
and wished them well in their future endeavors. Additional comments listed below:
Commissioner Bacerra
• Liked the on -line agenda with hyperlinks to the agenda and staff reports.
Chairman Alderete
• Happy that the commission approved the Adaptive Reuse Ordinance, which
coincides with the Housing Opportunities Ordinance.
ADJOURNED
6:48 P.M. - The next meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled
for Monday, December 22, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber,
22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California.
