C. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2015-04
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement
with David Rance Johnson for the structure located at 2130 North Ross Street
(Gregory -Johnson House).
MOTION: Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager
and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with David
Rance Johnson, property owner, for the structure located at 2130 North
Ross Street, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City
Manager and City Attorney.
D. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2015-05
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement
with David C. Crockett and Gloria L. Jetter Crockett for the structure located at 2118
North Greenleaf Street (Pritchard House).
MOTION: Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager
and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with David C.
Crockett and Gloria L. Jetter Crockett, property owners, for the structure
located at 2118 North Greenleaf Street, subject to non -substantive changes
approved by the City Manager and City Attorney.
E. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2015-06
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement
with Phil Calhoun for the structure located at 322 West Third Street (Minter House).
MOTION: Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager
and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with Phil
Calhoun, property owner, for the structure located at 322 West Third Street,
subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City
Attorney.
F. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2015-08
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement
with Mostafa and Bahar Kalhori for the structure located at 1006 North French Street
(Morris House).
MOTION: Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager
and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with Mostafa
and Bahar Kalhori, property owners, for the structure located at 1006 North
French Street, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City
Manager and City Attorney.
G. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2015-11
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement
with Ricardo Rivas for the structure located at 1112 North French Street (Alexander
House).
MOTION: Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager
and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with Ricardo
Rivas, property owner, for the structure located at 1112 North French
Street, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager
and City Attorney.

COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE (REGARDING AGENDIZED

• Chairperson Christy disclosed that she visited each home on the agenda.
• Vice Chair McLoughlin disclosed that he visited each home on the agenda and also
had conversations with: Ricardo Rivas, David Rance Johnson, David and Gloria
Crockett, Phil Calhoun, Gregory and Nicole Amweg, Patrick and Lisha Flavin, Judi
Bailey, Adam and Sandra Loughlin, and Christopher and Kelly Reinberger.
• Commissioner Murashie disclosed that he would be abstaining from voting on
property located on 2126 Heliotrope due to conflict of interest.

additional history and spoke in support of the project. There were no other speakers nor

Verny Carvajal
• Mentioned that the Planning Commission would soon be appointing a new
representative to replace Commissioner Bauer for the remainder of the year.
Hassan Haghani
• Introduced himself to the commission and provided his professional background.
8. HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION COMMENTS
Commissioner Coolidge
• Thanked the homeowners for attending the meeting and staff for the work involved.
• Encouraged all to visit The Roost at 601 E. Santa Ana Boulevard, a great example.
Commissioner Garcia
• Thanked the homeowners for coming and speaking about their homes.
• Welcomed the new commissioners and new staff.
Encouraged all to become members of the Santa Ana Historical Preservation
Society.
Commissioner Hitterdale
• Thanked homeowners for attending the meeting.
• Welcomed Hassan Haghani to the city.
Vice -Chairman McLoughlin
• Thanked the homeowners for their submittals.
• Welcomed Hassan Haghani, who he had the pleasure of meeting recently and
knowing he supports historic restoration.
• Suggested the meeting be dedicated to Idele Dye who recently passed away on
June 17 at the age of 98. Ms. Dye was the first owner of Ellen Koldewey's home that
was recently approved for a historic designation.
• Suggested that the meeting also be dedicated to Gil Marrero who recently passed
away. Mr. Marrero was well known in the communities of Floral and Morrison Parks,
he supported historic preservation as well as local art, and was well-known as a
local commercial real estate broker.

Commissioner Murashie
• Thanked the homeowners for attending the meeting and Hally Soboleske for the
worked involved in researching each home.
• Welcomed Hassan Haghani.
• Shared the experience of Beckman Instruments' administration building in Fullerton
to be designated as historic and how the city handled the issue.
Commissioner Rosas
• Congratulated the homeowners on their new designations.
• Welcomed new staff.
Commissioner Schaefer
• Has already visited The Roost and Scoops and thinks it's a great addition between
the Station District and the East End and great use of the property.
• Enjoyed the historical background provided by the homeowners.
• Mentioned that there will be an open house Saturday afternoon for a historic home
at 825 N. Lacy in French Park.
Chairperson Christy
• Asked staff to provide information on forming new historic districts (specifically
related to Washington and Wilshire Squares) and thanked staff for providing the
information.
• Suggested better outreach to the neighborhood associations about the historic
registry.
• Encouraged all to attend the annual 'Savor Santa Ana' event tonight from 5:00pm to
10:00pm.
• Invited all to attend Santa Ana College's 100 -year anniversary event to be held on
September 19 at 5:00pm.
