City conducted a city-wide survey to document existing mobile vending  locations. Proximity to an intersection, school/park,  Proximity to a city street light.  Tenure at site (period of time)  Vending on major arterials (> 35 MPH)  Second Phase Communication with Stakeholders  Food on Wheels Association representatives  Produce Mobile Vendors representatives  Downtown Inc. representatives (May 2 nd)  Santa Ana Business Council representatives  2 SURVEY LOCATION SAMPLE MAP 3 PROVIDE ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY OPTIONS Mobile Vending On-street  With metered Power  Construction Cost $6,000 to  $21,000 Currently Santa Ana owns  limited number of streetlights Without metered Power  Mobile Vending Sites on  Public Property Mobile Vending Sites on  Potential location of Private Property temporary food truck 4 ON-GOING PROGRESS Development of designs and operational standards for  Mobile Vending Islands –Private or Public properties  Mobile Vending On-Street locations including the use of  Establishment of mobile vending island permits.  Zoning text amendments  Permit similar to a valid LUC or CUP for an outdoor market.  Consideration may include compatibility of the proposed use of the  premises with existing zoning and neighborhood land uses.
