MacArthur Boulevard/ <br />Talbert Avenue Signal Synchronization <br />Program, Santa Ana, CA <br />Year completed[2014 <br />Client name: Orange County Transportation Authority <br />Contact person and phone number: <br />Vinh Nguyen, PE; (714) 647.5612 <br />Team members; Stantoostaft <br />Relevancy: Improved traffic flow along high -volume arterial, <br />revamped control equipment, critical City roadway <br />We optimized traffic flow along this high -capacity arterial <br />road by synchronizing 26 traffic signals —improving <br />existing systems with now control equipment to <br />accurately monitor conditions, improve communication <br />capabilities, and better respond to traffic needs. The <br />existing traffic signal.00ntrol and Interconnect equipment <br />was upgraded to be fully compatible. The upgrade <br />improved commonfcstions between each clty's traffic <br />management centers, allowing regional communication <br />exchange about status and programming. New <br />timing plans were developed permitting for increased <br />compatibility across the city boundaries. All 26 existing <br />signals were synchronized based on four time periods; <br />earty morning; noon, evening peak, and off-peak. We <br />used signal timing software to account for day-to- <br />day variations In traffic flows. Before and after travel <br />times and delay studies were fine-tuned by our skilled <br />staff, making slight adjustments to traffic signal timing <br />parameters to improve performance, reallocate green <br />time, and adjust the sequencing slightly reducing stops <br />and delays. <br />Campus DrivelBristol Street Intersection <br />Improvement, Orange County, CA <br />Year completed: 2016 <br />Client name: John Wayne Airport <br />Contact person and phone number: <br />Steven Carrillo; (049) 252-6020 <br />Team members: S. Reid (Project Engineer) <br />Relevancy: Full PS&Es and construction support services <br />through project completion, comprehensive A•E services; <br />improved traffic flow and safety <br />We provided architecture and engineering services to <br />widen southbound Campus Drive and an additional <br />600•foot•long, third right -turn lane onto northbound <br />Bristol Street. Our work Included partially demolishing <br />and reconstructing an existing maintenance building, <br />reconstructing existing traffic facilities, installing a new <br />overhead sign, relocating utilities, and providing minor <br />grading and re -vegetation. We coordinated closely with <br />JWA, the County of Orange, Caltrans, and the City of <br />Newport Beach to satisfy stakeholder's needs. <br />We provided full PS&Es and construction support <br />services throughout the successful project completion. <br />s <br />s <br />
