SCOPE OF SERVICES
WATER RESOURCES (OPTION A)
Our Scope of Services incorporates the tasks Identified by
the City in the RFR and as expanded below.
Well Rehabilitation
PHASE I - WELL KC9NNAISSANCE
1. Dynamic Well Evaluation
a, Perform Aquifer PumpingTesta
In order to evaluate the current health of the well,
and to provide a baseline from which to measure the
effectiveness of the Phase 11 work, aquifer pumping;test$
should be performed, These tests will provide current
well and aquifer dharaoteristies along with ,providing
sand readings overtinte.from start of pumping. Recovery
measurements should be collected for a minimum of two
(2) hours following the constant rate pumping test. The
recommended aquifer pulrrping torts are as.follows:
• Step Drawdown PumpingTests - to determine specific
capacity arid well efficiency relationships, Typi sally
three tofourrates are selected for pumping beginning
at the lowest rate and working up to the highest.
• Constant Rate Pumping Test & Recovery Test - time
drawdown and recovery measurements will be
made to determine aquifer parameters such as
transmissivity and storativity. it is recommended that
the constant rate test be conducted for a minimum of
12 hours with 2 hours of recovery messuremotits.
our suboonsultsnt, GEOSCIENCE will provide full-time
Inspection during pumping and recovery tests.
2. Static Well F'valuatjan
a, Remove Existing Pump and Equipment Krona Well
GEOSCIENCE has teamed with Best Drilling and Pump,
Inc. (Best) to perform work associated with removal of
equipment from the well, Best will remove the existing
pumps, motors, and column pipes from the well and store
this equipment In the immediate area around the well
site. At the completion of all activities, Best will reinstall
the pump and equipment to their original depths. Our coat
proposal for this task includes Contractor fees.
b, Perform Initial Video Inspection
Once the pump is removed, Pacific Surveys, li,C (Pacific)
under the supervision of GEDSCIENCE personnel, will
performs dual -scan downhole video survey of the well.
The purpose of the Video surveys will be to document the
current condition and look for areas of damage and/or
plugging in the well screen. GEOSCIENCE will provide full-
time Inspection during each video survey. The post forthe
surveying Contractor is included. in the proposal,
3. Results and recommendations
At the conclusion of the Phase I evaluation, GEOSCIENCE
will prepare a letter report that summarizes the details and
'results of the work performed. This report will Include„
• Chronology of flold activities,
. Analysis of aquifer pumpingtesta,
t Evaluation of ourl'ent well conditions, and
Recommendations for further rehabilitation
procedures.
The letter reportwill be presented to the City In 100%
DRAFT electronic format for review and comment. City
pomments:will be incorporated and GEOSCIENCE will
issue a JQO% FINAL version In electronic format; as well
asrthree (3) hard copies, For cost estimating purposes, it
is assumed that one round of comments will be addressed
before a 100% FINAI. version Its prepared.
,PHASE II - WELL REHABILITATION
Based on the results of the activities described in Phase
1, some or all of the following tasks may be appropriate
for the proper rehabilitation ofthe.well, Regardless of
what tasks are decided upon, it will be necessary for
the City to,contract directly with a licensed C•57 drilling
Contractor to perform this work. The following scope items
are for GEOSCIENCE to assist the City with procuring a
qualified Contractor and providing field supervision during
Contractor activities.
L Proj®et Construction Management
GEOSCIENCE will provide construction management
services during Phase 11 of the well rehabilitation to ensure
that all aspects of the project are carried out In a proper
and offlclant manner. construction management activities
will include, but not limited to, attending a pre -construction
meeting with prospective Contractors, responding to
Contractor RFI's, review of Contractor submittals and
Invoices, review of change order requests, and providing
status updates to city personnel.
