Complimentary Proposals. Given the significance of emergency ambulance <br />transportation and related services and in order to ensure that the City receives <br />proposals from qualified and experienced 9-1-1 providers, this RFP (No. #18-059) <br />sets high standards with respect to provider experience, operational systems, <br />vehicle maintenance/ records, personnel training/records, patient care/transport <br />system design but also allows providers the opportunity to submit complimentary <br />proposals with additional innovative services and potential cost -savings. Any such <br />complimentary proposals shall not constitute an alternative RFP response, but are <br />instead wholly optional and shall be in addition to the required responses set forth <br />in this RFP. All instructions contained in this RFP shall be fully complied with or <br />the proposal may be rejected as nonresponsive. This RFP is not a formal bidding <br />process. Such additional complimentary information that a qualified 9-1-1 provider <br />may wish to include in their RFP response, may be presented as an appendix to <br />their RFP. Please note: the City's contract for paramedic/medical billing and <br />collection services expires June 30, 2019. The City intends to develop and release <br />an RFP for the performance of paramedic/medical billing and collection services <br />on behalf of the City prior to April 2019. Qualified experienced 9-1-1 providers with <br />competent experience in providing paramedic/medical billing and collection <br />services shall be eligible to submit proposals to this RFP. <br />1.2.7 Term <br />The Contract awarded under this RFP is for an initial five (5) year term, with 9-1-1 <br />Emergency Transportation Service beginning at "TBD" hours on the contract effective <br />date and ending five years thereafter at "TBD" hours, with an optional three (3) year <br />extension, with a final optional two (2) year extension, exercisable at the sole discretion <br />of the City. <br />City of Santa Ana Page 16 <br />Fire/EMS Emergency Ambulance Transportation and Related Services <br />Request for Proposals: # 18-059 <br />August 28, 2018 <br />l0J I'm l, <br />
