<br />EXPERIENCE & RESPONSIBILITIES
<br />Reza obtained a doctorate in geotechnical engineering
<br />specialized in pavement engineering. Reza published
<br />his dissertation work in sustainable recycled asphalt'
<br />mix designs. His three years of industry experience
<br />includes subsurface explorations and logging, in -
<br />situ field plate load testing to assess high speed rail
<br />embankment construction, pavement and airfield
<br />assessment mapping and analysis for repair, field
<br />observation and assessment during deep mixed
<br />foundations, micropile foundations, drilled pier and
<br />soil nail and tieback shored excavations, excavation
<br />performance monitoring, assignment and review of:
<br />laboratory testing programs, load testing of soil nails
<br />and anchors, and sampling of construction materials,
<br />sand, grout, and shotcrete facing for quality control.
<br />Reza is proficient in the preparation of Caltrans
<br />geotechnical design and foundation reports, and
<br />liquefaction assessment through in -situ tests of SPT,
<br />CPT, DMT, and VST, as well as numerical modeling
<br />and analytical design of geotechnical problems
<br />including shallow and deep foundations, bridge
<br />piers, retaining walls, MSE walls, reinforced slopes,
<br />deep excavations, braced cuts, sheet piles, buried
<br />pipelines, pavements, tunnels, earthen dams, levees,
<br />bluffs, and embankments.
<br />PROJECT EXPERIENCE
<br />+ City of West Hollywood Melrose Avenue
<br />Complete Street Project, CA: Project manager
<br />during a geotechnical investigation for the proposed
<br />construction of a complete street along Melrose
<br />Avenue as part of the West Hollywood Design District
<br />Master Plan. The project will the reconfiguration of
<br />the Melrose Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard
<br />intersection to shorten crossing distances and improve
<br />traffic signal operations, and the reconfiguration
<br />of the Melrose Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard
<br />to include dual left turn lanes. Other features will
<br />include construction of widened sidewalks, sidewalk
<br />bulb -out curb extensions with directional pedestrian
<br />access ramps at crosswalks, roadway paving
<br />with sharrow bicycle route markings, and drought
<br />tolerant groundcover. Storm water features including
<br />infiltration basins and pervious gutters in compliance
<br />with NPDES/MS 4 permit will be incorporated.
<br />+ LA Metro 1-606 and SR-91 Interchange Project,
<br />Santa Fe Springs, CA: Senior engineer during a
<br />geotechnical investigation for the Project Approval
<br />and Environmental Documentation (PA/ED) phase of
<br />the proposed $120 million project. The improvements
<br />will include additional freeway mainline capacity
<br />leading to westbound SR-91 connector ramp to the
<br />northbound and southbound 1-605, improvements to
<br />freeway westbound entrance and exit ramps on SR-
<br />91, and operational improvements for the northbound
<br />1-605 at Alondra Boulevard off -ramp. Associated
<br />improvements are also anticipated on the arterial
<br />streets in the vicinity of the freeway ramp intersections.
<br />+ City of Carlsbad As -Needed Services Contract,
<br />Carlsbad, CA: Senior engineer during testing and
<br />inspection services for various projects including the
<br />El Camino Road Widening project and pavement
<br />overlay projects.
<br />+ City of South Pasadena FY 16-17 Street
<br />Improvements, South Pasadena, CA: Senior
<br />engineer during a geotechnical investigation for
<br />the rehabilitation of existing roadway segments at
<br />Monterey Road and El Centro Street.
