<br />A.K. has over ten years of experience as a special
<br />inspector and a total of 25 years of construction industry
<br />experience. He maintains multiple certifications
<br />from ICC, ACI and the City of Los Angeles. He has
<br />a diverse background working on a variety of project
<br />types, which include power plants, infrastructure, fire
<br />stations, residential, commercial facilities and large
<br />retail chains. A.K. has previously worked as a field
<br />engineer, construction monitor and was the principal
<br />engineer of his own firm in Eritrea. He can speak and
<br />write in three languages.

<br />+ Coachella Public Library, Coachella, CA: Grading
<br />observation and testing, as well as special inspection
<br />of concrete, framing, and structural steel welding
<br />during construction of the design/build library project
<br />consists of a one-story, 15,000 SF building.
<br />+ Trabuco Canyon Bridge, Lake Forest, CA:
<br />Compaction testing during construction of a bridge
<br />with a precast, pre -stressed voided concrete slab
<br />deck, including cast -in -place concrete abutments
<br />and retaining wall, and bridge and approach railings.
<br />Other features included construction of a temporary
<br />bypass, the removal of an existing concrete low water
<br />crossing, dewatering, erosion control, installation
<br />of riprap, roadway realignment and construction,
<br />aggregate base, asphalt concrete paving, and the
<br />design and construction of stream restoration in the
<br />vicinity of the bridge. When the bridge was completed,
<br />the temporary bypass road was removed.

<br />Grading observation and testing during construction
<br />of a new combined treated potable water storage
<br />tank and Chlorine Contact (CCT), and treated water
<br />pump station at the existing groundwater treatment
<br />plant. The plant supplies disinfected treated water
<br />to the San Gabriel Valley Water Company potable
<br />water distribution system. The project is under the
<br />jurisdiction of the Environmental Protection Agency,
<br />Region 9, under Response Action Contract 3 Full
<br />Service (RAC 3 FS).
<br />+ Hawthorne Municipal Airport North Side
<br />Development, Hawthorne, CA: Structural steel
<br />welding inspection and observation and testing of
<br />grading and utility trenching during construction of this
<br />$9 million project. Facilities include three new hangars
<br />and parking expansion in support of the on -going
<br />development of 190,000 SF of new hangar space.
